USCarrier Telecom Celebrates 10th Anniversary

-The Brainchild of 20 Georgia Telephone Companies Marks a Significant Milestone-

ATLANTA, GA – October 4, 2007 www.uscarrier.com – USCarrier Telecom, LLC., a Southeastern wholesale provider of high-speed, long-haul, fiber optic transport and Network Innovations, Inc., a leading provider of data networking and telecommunications services for businesses worldwide, announced today the completion of a 500 Mb Ethernet circuit within the USCarrier fiber-optic network. Since the demand for content-driven applications such as IPTV and mobile video requires considerable bandwidth, USCarrier is leveraging its core SONET and DWDM network to provide resilient Ethernet services, such as packetized voice and video applications. Recent deployments are applying Layer 2 and 3 switching capabilities for both the Internet backbone and video broadcasting services.

“The partnership with Network Innovations was a natural fit,”said Jack Roberts, VP of Sales for USCarrier. “Our recently completed network upgrade was an advantage for USCarrier and allowed us to provide Network Innovations with the Ethernet service they needed,” said Roberts.

Many IXC carriers and LEC’s do not have Ethernet interconnect agreements in place and are still running on antiquated hardware platforms with large networks and huge costs to convert. The delays in widespread availability, particularly with long-haul Ethernet services, have been challenging for Network Innovations.

According to Ron Grason, COO of Network Innovations, “Ethernet is the preferred method of network delivery to most customers today.” “USCarrier has embraced the marketplace, which has allowed Network Innovations to deliver cost-effective, Ethernet services to our end users who exist in their footprint, including Internet connectivity and private line services.” While Gigabit Ethernet is one of the hottest growth areas in telecom today, both USCarrier and Network Innovations aim to deliver quality of service, quick turn-up time and cost savings to their steadily expanding customer base.
